Workshop

The Richmond cyclery workshop is the ideal place to have your bicycle worked on. We pride ourselves on the quality of work which is produced daily from the stands of our mechanical staff.

Most cyclists would agree that just about anyone can sell them a bike but can they all repair them? NO. Our work is of the highest standard with all repairs carried out using the finest tools available. Of course these tools can't operate on there own, enter Luke "Jimmy" Medhurst.

Luke is Richmond Cyclery's chief mechanic, he does'nt say a lot ... does'nt need to, clearly he is one of Melbourne's best mechanics and finds it easier to let the tools do the talking.

From the total rebuilding of Campagnolo ergo levers to finding that annoying creak which has found its way into the good old 'too hard basket' Luke is the man for the task. With eight years of workshop action behind him Luke is ready to look after your machine as only he can.

Understudy Ryan is also at your service to sort some of your bicycle's problems, he is ready and able to advise in all aspects of the workshop. However if Grant is spotted pretending the tools are his thing, its probably best you book your bike in at a latter date.

servicing

All bikes are thoroughly degreased and cleaned before the service is commenced.

A lot of extra work but the end result is definitely worthwhile. We feel bikes function more efficiently when clean so you can be sure yours will sparkle on collection.

Only the best replacement parts are used to repair, parts that are sourced on reputation not price. We use the procedure of calling the client before commencing with major repairs if not already pre arranged to discuss possible outcomes and pricing.

We have VIP parking for the bikes which command such a service so as not to damage in any way the finish of your pride and joy.

A coffee facility is our newest edition to the workshop area which allows clients to sip away on a latte whilst explaining why their bike is in such desperate need of repair. We can all make an ok brew but the self service approach is encouraged.

It would seem the need for the age old art of wheel building is rapidly diminishing however if you have the desire to build or rebuild a set we can help. We use only Sapin and DT spokes in our wheels and are happy to source any rims and hubs you require.

Finally, even if you haven't purchased your bike through Richmond cyclery or it is a brand that we do not sell, give our workshop a try , when it comes to bikes there is nothing we can't fine tune.

Luke and Grant.
