Opening July 2002, Richmond cyclery has now traded its way to success in the road cycling and triathlon markets as a specialist store in both sports.

As the owner of Richmond cyclery I am very proud of our achievements to date as the business was started from scratch with nothing more than some good ideas. Since then we have worked towards becoming one of Melbourne's leading retailers for bicycle enthusiasts in a little more than two years.

My personal background is very much bike related all starting at the age of nine. With seat firmly pushed down onto the top tube of my first race bike, a year hasn't past since, that bikes haven't been a major part in my life.

My cycle racing career spanned seventeen years including national representation at World championships, Commonwealth games and the Barcelona Olympic's in 1992. This coupled with three years in bicycle wholesale followed by five years managing a retail outlet, provided the perfect foundation to open my own store.

These days it is my family that occupy the hours that I once devoted to the bike, a great swap I must add. My wife-business partner Emma ,two boys Harry and Ben and dog Grover make up the other team that take care of me after hours. I am fortunate enough to have fantastic work colleagues, Luke and Ryan who assist/teach me in the day today operations of the store. You can learn more about them in other sections of the site.

Although a relatively small store we feel this has its advantages as to keep the service on a more personal basis. Our point of difference here at Richmond cyclery is that we really do know every facet of the sport we cater for, it's the difference that enables us to understand your needs.

I look forward to meeting you when next visiting Richmond cyclery.
